My first post…

Was using my CT 15 E extractor yesterday with 5” orbital sander, taking paint off cockpit floor.
Red light came on.  Searched PDF manual to find it meant overheat.  Waited 5 minutes, nothing changed.

Bought new vacuum bags, came back next day, installed new bag.  Turned unit on, green light went red laser immediately.  The extractor is not working. My unit and my boat project is dead in the water.

Any suggestions appreciated very much…

Hose is clear, new bag properly installed
(Sigh)…
When powered on, the green LED immediately goes RED…

Contact Festool. You paid for a 3-year all-inclusive service when getting the vac. Use it.

It is likely some sensor issue which makes the vac "think" it is overheated while it is not. Can be anything on the electronics side or even a real overheat from a failing bearing etc. etc.

Hose isn't blocked? Bag installed correctly?
The CT 15 cooling setup is independent from the air being sucked. So it cannot overheat (just) from even a completely blocked main filter. And it definitely is not normal after 5 mins.

Did you check the main filter?  I guess it's possible that you had a hole in the bag and the filter got clogged?
