Hi,

I am about to start a project in which I will refinish the hardwood stairs in my home.  It is a tradtional two storey, with all natural birch.  I am going to paint the balusters white and the risers.  The treads and the handrail will be stained with a GF java gel.

I borrowed a LS130 to help with the sanding of the handrail.  The balusters will be lightly sanded and then painted with BIN as a primer.

Any advice on further products and technique will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Brian

I have a very similar project that needs doing, I have to raise the nosing that the spindles sit on as I want to change from carpet to hardwood. One of the things I'm researching is removing the spindles and handrail to get better access and easier to do the spindles etc.  Would love to get input as well.
