Well I ordered 5 new sanders from the refurbished sale, they arrived today and I could not be happier.  I got a 2 RO125, 2- Ds400s, and an ets 125.  I'm not kidding for a second, they look and work brand new. They even smell new.  Not even a speck of dirt, or a scratch on any of them.  Great purchase, I now am the proud owner of 17 festool tools, mostly sanders and vacuums, but I have a few saws as well.  I'm gonna be ordering some additional items now that I'm so happy with these.  Great job festool once again, and I would buy reconditioned every time if possible.

We'd happily go back and charge you full price.  [big grin] [poke]

Glad you are happy with your purchases.

I just received a domino DF 500 Set.  It was 10% off and it arrived looking exactly as it would look after I used it 1 - 2 times.  Almost perfect.  I immediately built my 1 st project with it, probobly about 70 (4 mm) dominoes in 1/2" baltic birch and I couldn't be happier.

Shane,
You seem to be the go to guy on here, have a question.  The one rotex I bought has the cord attached, but it won't disconnect, now I know that you can buy the straight up full time plug, and I have a few of them. But I do not wanna go wrenching this cord only to damage it.  Could you advise me what to do.  Thanks.  Sam

Sam,

Is it possible that you ordered the older Rotex RO 150 E? If so, the cord does not disconnect. It's permanently attached.

The old Rotex has a green knob on the side. The new one has the switch on the top.

I'm pretty sure that we wouldn't have shipped a tool with the Plug-It cord attached, since it generally won't fit in the Systainer that way.

A photo would be helpful if it's convenient to post one. Thanks.

Shane

Shane,
Thanks for the reply.  No it is a newer RO125 in the t-loc systainers.  And yes it actually is jammed in the systainer pretty oddly. What would be your suggestion.  I want the sander for sure, don't wanna risk sending it back, in case I receive a different one instead. .  I could text you a pic, I am basically computer stupid. I used the sander, it works perfect, but I do not wanna risk ruining it.  By the way, I went nuts and ordered 5 more tools yesterday. Got my first festool cordless drill, and stocked up on a few more sanders.  I have a few ct22s, and a mini. I really wanna purchase a vac during this refurb sale. Maybe the ct 33.  Do you know if you could split the hose and run 2 rotex sanders.  I refinish floors for a living and strive completely toward dust free sanding. You should see customers faces when they see how good of a job my festool vacs do. I have even used my ct22 to run an edger for a few hours. Never bogged once, it's pretty sad that I have 8k dust containment units, and a small ct22 does the same job.    I'm rambling, I know.  I new to the boards, and have not had the opportunity to express how much I appreciate having tools that work everyday without ever needing replaced.  Thanks for your time.     Sam

Sam,

Sorry for the delay in responding. It's been a busy day and it's still not over for me.

Expect a call from one of our tech guys regarding your Plug-It cord issue. He can help you out with that. If not, we can get it in for service and get it taken care of for you without a need to be concerned about not getting back the same tool. Worst case, they will swap the Plug-it connector on the tool and give you a new cord.

Regarding using the CT 33 with two sanders, there was just another thread started about this. You would need one of our Y-adapters. With that, you'd be able to use two sanders simultaneously without any issues.

Thanks,
Shane

Got my second batch in yesterday from the refurb sale,  got a few more items.  As expected,  they arrived looking like brand new tools.  Even the 30% off drill looked new.  Today's my b-day, so I have to place another order tmrw now.. Lol..  This time I'm going for a ts55 and a planer.  I'm switching all my existing tools to festool.  I'm only a kapex away now...  It's addicting.  Sam

So, I'm ready for round 3 for the refurb sale.  Do you think festool will do anything special on the last day of the sale, like an extra % off. If not, I wanna order now.  Just a thought.

If you are a gambler, wait and see.  I have only seen two of these sales since I have been involved here, and if I were in your shoes and wanted something I wouldn't wait.

Good Luck!

Time is money - unless you have all the time in the world...  For most, getting something done Faster, Easier, and Smarter has value. Some don't perceive that value for various reasons.

For those that make money using tools, it's an ROI calculation. The calculation is more complicated than it appears, just like most ROI calculations are. Sometimes when people are counting employee cost(s), they fail to include the full burden rate (wages, tax contributions, health care, etc.). It's common, in employment situations, for the fully loaded burden to be 140% - 200% of the money that is paid out in wages or salary. If you save an hour of someone's time, it could count for twice what goes to them. That's just the start of the complexity. The other aspects include (but are not limited to) quality of work & limiting scrap, timeliness of completion, customer perception & referrals, plus, in some cases, regulatory compliance.

For those that use tools for enjoyment, it's hard to put a number to what increased enjoyment is worth. Again, everyone is different... Some gain their greatest satisfaction from making something out of nothing and the relative struggle. Others revel in more volume of comfortable achievement.

Waiting for 10% off or even 20%-30% off can cost a lot more than the savings achieved by not waiting.

A few days ago and on another forum, someone asked me if Festool was worth the price. I responded that it depends on what you value. Everyone is different but when I perceive value and I wait, I always kick myself in the butt for delaying reaping the reward.

What's going on with the reconditioned tools site?  I've tried to get updated information all day, using three different websites, and it's been unavailable every time.

Apparently, the Internet at Festool USA has been inoperable all day.

A critical piece of network hardware failed at our headquarters this morning. As a result, the real-time inventory has been down today. The hope is for it to be restored late tomorrow. Please note that any emails to @festoolusa.com have not been delivered since about 7a ET today.

There will be no change to the current program or "specials" at the end of the event. If you want something, get it before its gone.

Well said my friend, well said.  [thanks]

There are certain pieces of Festool that have definitely made me feel the way you characterized.
