Regarding the June 2017 Silica Regs

I was reading on Hilti's web site about the incoming Silica Dust guidelines that start in June.
I know there are Vacs and saws/grinders that capture dry cutting/operations out there in the marketplace, but none of it looks cheap for almost any sized operation since the Table Guidelines  I saw seem to always require  HEPA level filtering from the vacuum system.
So, what is the general consensus about all of this upcoming change that also touches on Fiber Cement cutting as well?
Will this bring us tools and accompanying vacuum systems that have been available in other parts of the world but not yet here?... [unsure]
Hilti seems well poised for these guidelines already , but even their smallest vac is just under a grand..... [eek]
 
More thoughts. Are any of the Vacs that Festool sells here in the US rated to handle Concrete or Masonry Dust for daily use?

The guidelines touch on wet and dry operations, even drilling holes.
Around here with our massive amount of brick and other Masonry type buildings, things could get interesting with these new regs coming on in June.
I started looking at the small Tuckpointing grinders that have dust shrouds on them, it would be a different world around here with greatly reduced clouds of mortar dust during a Tuckpointing job. I should probably talk to my Tuckpointing/Masonry guys that I know and see what their thoughts are on this.
 
I got an on site demo of a couple of the European concrete tools a while back. Stefan and Saul from Festool Germany were doing a little site tour in the NYC area. It was the 150mm concrete surfacer, basically a 6" grinder with a diamond cup and shroud, and the angle grinder that runs on the track for cutting concrete. They ran them off a transformer and they were hooked up to the Ct 36ac. Did a very good job of capturing the dust, but not sure if that setup is actually Hepa.
They were looking for input, and those tools haven't made it to this side of the Atlantic yet, but we can always hope.

I bought the Metabo W 12-125 HD SET CED PLUS saw (will run on Festool type tracks) and the Metabpo RS 14-125 grinder in anticipation of the new rules.  I've yet to buy a dedicated vac, probably Festool 36AC or Metabo ASR 35 ACP HEPA.

Thanks for the reply. What type of work are you planning to do with it?
 
I do not do too much of concrete work but I do a lot sometimes. I have been very happy with metabo stuff and love their customer service as well. I have two metabo grinders and Have been using their hammer drills for 10 years now, but I always use my flex wet grinder for concrete. This tool will never die and been very useful for me. Flex is the inventor of angle grinder and that is why they have the (DAS ORIGINAL) on them just like Fein multimaster.

I sell steel and aluminum entrances and occasionally need to modify the opening and thresholds.  Also handy for getting the lower surface level for the automatic sliders I sell, service, and install.  I've been using my 30 year old 8 1/4 Skil saw with an extractor attachment I got from Britian and still will use it to enlarge jambs, but the Metabo does better with extraction.  I never found any of the attachments for my regular grinders to be much use.
