Register to attend Festool Connect 2014 in Providence, RI on March 20th, 2014

Regretfully not. I have a brother who this week had to relocate to another state to wait for a liver transplant and I anticipate that I might need to provide family / moral support, and I am now working to rehabilitate my oldest dog who suffered multiple seizures and a possible stroke earlier in the week.

It was a tough decision though. I have had a blast the last couple of years at the conference and if last year was any indication of what will come this year at the Connect event I will be kicking myself all year.

Peter

Well wishes to your brother...family first of course! This family will miss you dearly! It's my one usual opportunity to see you a year! Although I did have a chance to see you at the ToolNut when JRB was in town so I was fortunate enough to have seen you then!!!

Peter, really sorry to hear about your brother, and your "best friend".

So tired of missing out on these things...have a blast guys!

Jon

P.s. New Years resolution:  be in a better position financially to be able to travel more!  (I'm well on my way!)

Peter. I am sorry to hear your family issues, I hope all goes well for your Brother and I wish you luck with your dog.
Wishing the best my brother, you will be missed for sure
Sal

Yes, it's definitely a bummer that Peter won't be with us this year, but family is more important for sure. There's a possibility we may try to do at least one other Connect event in 2014 in some other part of the country. I'm sure I'll be bombarded with ideas for location by members...

Ugh, Peter!  You'll be missed buddy.  Hope all goes well.

Just curious if there are spots left, if any and how quick it typically fills up.  Is it free to attend?

While there are not a specific number of spaces, we have stopped advertising the event because of the sheer number of people registered. That doesn't mean that you can't still sign up though. And, yes, it's free to attend. See you there!

Peter,
Best of luck to your brother and well wishes to your family.

...having difficulty making that date, due to conflicts...will know later.

Thanks.  He has some of the best medical professionals in the world on his team and is hooked up with one of the best facilities in the country that specializes in transplants.  Ironically it is located in...........  Indianapolis.  In the event that I need to travel to Indy hopefully I will have time to make a slight road trip to see some friends of ours.  I have already made all my brothers promise to let me set up a tour of Festool so that they better understand my excitement.

I hope that everyone who can make the Festool Connect does.  It gets better every year and I have no doubt that Rick and the gang will rock it even better this year.  Remember that in the last few years that this whole show is the biggest event that Festool USA does and there will not be another event where you will have the experience of probably over a dozen Festool trained employees in one place at one time.  I will enjoy it when I read about how much you enjoyed it later and when you post some little tidbit that you noticed or heard that you didn't know before.

GO!

Peter

Las Vegas!  How many people can squeeze into the Henderson Training Facility at one time....???!!!  [laughing] :o

I don't remember this being asked already but are you guys going to stream this live like you did last year?

Good question, Brice. Ironically, I was on the phone with our video crew today. Yes, it will be live streamed and also portions posted to YouTube after the event. We're doing things to make sure the live stream is better than last year. Better all around including no ads during the live stream which was a bad thing last year. We want to make sure those who couldn't attend get to experience everything too.

Well, in about a week, I'll be touching down in Providence and preparing for another great Festool Connect and JLC Live event and I can't wait!

Like I said before, I'd suggest that you arrive early on Thursday morning if you want to secure seats near the front to get the best view of the event. Also, with the number of people we have registered, I don't want you to miss anything standing in line to get in as we give you your JLC exhibit hall pass, etc.

I hope to see many of my friends there from years past and meet some new FOG members as well. It's going to be awesome!

For those who can't make it, we have a great video crew that will be live video streaming the day's events and we'll also be posting videos on YouTube in the weeks that follow.

Peter, Sorry to hear your brother will be layed up.  It is good to know you are so confident he will be in very good hands. That is always a big help.
It is also tough to be worried about your pal.  I don't know what type of siezures he is having. Our daughter has an older dog who first started having seizures about four or five years ago.  It took a few months to get the proper meds ballanced, but he is fine now.  Just an occasional bout that do not last more than a minute or so. I'm sure your pal will be fine.  It just doesn't happen with the first visit to the vet.  it takes patience.

Shane, I won't be attending, but it is great to know it will be streamed.  That part was great last year.  I was even able to recognize a few of the attendees.  If the vid is any better this year, it will be almost like being there.  Even tho i won't be traveling, i will be glued to the screen. Thanks for all you do to set the whole expo up for all of us.

Tinker,  thanks for the thoughts.  Actually my brother got his liver transplant last Friday - less than 2.5 weeks after relocating.  The surgeons commented on how easy the operation was and he is way ahead of the curve recovery wise.  Goldie (my oldest dog) is adapting well to medication with no additional incidents.  Fingers will remain crossed for both.

I'll be watching the streaming and learning along with everyone else.

Peter

Welp, we're a week away from the big event. I'm pumped and can't wait.  [thumbs up]

I'll be putting a link at the top of the FOG to a thread that will contain our live video broadcast of the event for those who can't make it and our international members who want to view the event. It will also be broadcast on our Facebook page and on the Festool USA website. We'll have a live blog going and there will be an opportunity for viewers to chat live.

We will also be allowing viewers to help vote for our video contest winner this year and will announce the results at the end of the event live. So, all of you can help judge the finalists' videos and select the best one.

So, mark your calendar!

Shane

I learned today that I won't be able to attend due to our currently very busy work schedule. I reluctantly canceled my reservation this afternoon. I had looked forward to this for several months and had planned to attend Connect and then the show at the exhibition hall on Friday. Bummed that I won't get the opportunity to meet some FOG members and Festool employees who so diligently monitor and make this forum a wealth of information. Also bummed in advance because I know there will be some type of cool giveaway - however I know it will get into the hands of another appreciative user. Hope you have a blast!

Shane and Everyone at Festool,  [thanks]

For producing Connect and Live Streaming it to those of us who could not fly to Providence to participate in person.
