Hello
Well a nice package arrived today with 2 drill sets.
a BHC set with 2 5.2a batteries and charger
and a DRC set also with 2 batteries and charger both from axminster.

The paper slip you get in with the tool that has the TNR and serial number..
The BHC says PLUS where as the DRC says set, do i need to also individually register all 4 batteries and the 2 chargers also?
2 of the batteries have no serial number sticker on them?

Cheers

You don't have to register the batteries and charger separately.
Because any Plus or Set version both includes 2 batteries and the chargers.

Jmac,  i am a bit puzzled here how your 'set' batteries do not have any bar codes on them.  I recently bought the PDC set and both batteries have bar codes. The SET bar code is the same on the drill and the batteries. When i registered it i simply put it the bar code off the registration form and all parts of the SET (drill,  batteries,  charger) were registered so if it has to go back for warranty servicing Festool know what is included in my SET version.

The only time they did not is when i bought a bare drill body in its systainer and the dealer then the dealer did me a deal on extra batteries. These extra batteries did not have bar codes.

I hate to say it but it sounds like the 'set' you have been sold is not a set but the bare unit with batteries. Does it say say its a set on the front of the systainer?  If so maybe they sold the batteries earlier, realized the error then replaced them in the set they sold you.  Juat a thought.

Yes that's right. Looks like the 2 batteries without the serial numbers on them are wrong.  They should not have been in the set box as they are not the original ones Festool shipped with them from the factory.  Tut tut very naughty. The problem you will have is that if you make a warranty claim in the next 3 years and have to return the drill, batteries and charger they will find out that the batteries are not from the set kit (hence the matching serial numbers on each battery), hence no warranty on 'those' batteries.  Hope that makes it a bit clearer so to speak.

I would have a word with Axminster and point this out to them.  Then if you have no luck then speak to Festool.  [wink]

I noticed on some batteries for a different drill that the serial number stickers were not on the bottom of the batteries but rather on the end that attaches to the charger.  I totally missed that on those and was wondering about serial numbers.  I was so used to looking for that info in one spot that I totally overlooked the smaller label in another.

Please don't take this personally, I would love to know if the label position has changed on yours also, or if it was just a different situation on mine.

Not taken personally at all, No stickers to be found anywhere on the batteries.

What's your view on this... should the batteries that came with the BHC set have serial numbers? Should i get the lot changed or what? If i need to call axminster tomorrow what should i say?

Cheers James

I missed the notification [unsure]

Hi [member=41214]Phil Beckley[/member]

I spoke to axminster and they agreed to replace the BHC set i got..
It just turned up, problem is this ones systainer in knackered as per pics below.
I can only open it a couple of inches because of whatever happened at the back of it.
it allowed me to see the bottom of the battery though and this ones also don't have serial numbers :(
So.. what to do?  [crying] i notice the back inside of this systainer doesn't have the strengthen bar that runs across the back (returned bhc did not either) .. Out of over 30 systainers i have acquired this year every other one does.

I'm fairly racking up the festool returns now with all the kit i have bought and had to return year.

Here's some pics for you:

[member=41214]Phil Beckley[/member] is it possible for festool to send the kit out to me and have this one picked up?

Cheers

Ok
I think i'll just get a refund on it and buy the hammer drill bare tool.
I'll get another 2 batteries with a different kit one day.
