Well, unfortunately I had some 2 part bar top epoxy go wrong on me and I need to remove the sticky mess of partially cured resin. It's too viscous to wipe off, even with a rag soaked in acetone. I'm thinking of getting some 24 grit Saphir paper for my RO150 and going to town. Has anyone else tried this method?

Scrape off the sticky part. Use vinegar to remove any residue. Leave it for a day so any part that did mix can cure and then you can sand.
Use a heat gun and a scraper to remove the majority of it first. Then I'd try wiping with acetone and then sand. Sanding uncured epoxy will clog the paper too fast.

If the epoxy is really still semi-liquid then I would agree with others about heating and scraping. Wear a respirator. If it is semi soft to sticky then I would find some PVA https://www.amazon.com/Fibre-Glast-Release-Film-Quart/dp/B015NM6MDS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1509895211&sr=8-2&keywords=polyvinyl+alcohol+mold+release&dpID=511k8lhwGaL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch put it in a sprayer or spray bottle and cover your project. Then wait and see what happens.
