Have not bothered about the occasional drop of glue on my old cast iron sash type clamps in the past, but have noticed my newer Bessey Clamps have a few drops and this affects their use.

What do others use to remove glue residue on their clamps?

Oh, and please don't suggest being tidy!  [blink]  [big grin]

Bump.

One site I looked at suggested vinegar. Any thoughts or other ideas welcome.

On the metal parts, anything sharp that comes to hand - razor blade, stanley knife, chisel. If there is a lot you could even use an EHL65 if you want to do it with a festool tool  [big grin] On the plastic bits I use masking tape and replace when it gets too coated.

I had a similar problem with Titebond on my epoxied garage floor.  I spoke to a tech at Titebond and they said to use steam and it will soften the glue to where it will come off easily.  I soaked down a dish towel and applied a iron on High and in about 10-15 seconds it came right up.  way cool!

Thank you both.

Following Howard's suggestion, will have see how I go borrowing 'Senior Management's' steam cleaner!  [big grin]
