This was in another thread but figured it deserved its own post.

We have attic lids in stock with free shipping. You can swap the lid on your existing Systainer to add the attic storage with this component.

Note: Does not include T-LOC knob or handle, which can be used from your current Systainer.

I got two of these from Toolnut when you could preorder. Received them after a short wait and they are awesome.

You can't use with all the tools due to the decreased height in the top but added them to my Centrotec Installers Kit and another SYS2 I use for hand tools. Makes carrying those small bits and always having your pencils/festool tape easy to access.

about 1 yr ago i got them from a vendor on here dropped shipped to my house for 24 usd. about 3 months ago the price on these jumped to 43...and now its 50!?? wow. whats the reason for the huge jump?

FT just sticking it to us again I suspect.

Better order one now before they go up again at the end of the year.

You make it sound so negative. You keep buying those things, so why not. It's not like they are taking advantage of penniless orphans... On the other hand, if you look at FT owners as addicts than it's just cruel.

Originally, we were told that the item included all of the components of the attic lid. After receiving our first shipment, subsequent shipments were just the lid without the clear window, latch or dividers. With those components being separate, the price needed to be adjusted accordingly.

My intent was not to be negative, that you took it that way is interesting.  I guess you feel that a 30% increase is normal operations ?  I'd love to get that increase every year without affecting sales.

Shane, et al - if you look at the previous discussions on this topic there is or was much confusion about what was included with that part number.  At one point about a year ago all the parts were being included from FT for around 35 bucks if I recall.  A year before that , you only got the lid itself, no latch or clear cover and I don't recall the price.

So , it seems that it's still pot luck as to what you get as is the price.  I understand that you (and other dealers) can only sell on what you receive at the usual markup.  Why FT can't get their act together consistently on this item is also baffling.  Why they don't offer the attic as a standard option to be fitted to any systainer for the incremental charge at first purchase is also frustrating .

It's very clearly listed on our website what's included for the price. We had a few customers who received just the lid and we made sure that they were taken care of and received the rest of the components. So, there should be no mystery in what's being purchased.

I appreciate the patience for those who did just receive the lid working with us to get the issue resolved since what we received from Festool changed unexpectedly.

Stuff happens sometimes. It was resolved to everyone's satisfaction. All is good in the universe. At least as far as Systainer attic lids are considered.  [big grin] [big grin] [big grin]

Shane- I was referring to FT not being consistent with what they sent to you and other dealers.  Sorry if it wasn't clear.

It wasn't limited to dealers either. Some indiv. who ordered from EKAT got full "kits" if you will , while others just received a lid.

I remember this conversation about a year (?) ago... [big grin] when ordered from EKAT, some people received all the parts, some received some of the parts and one person received duplicate parts. This was before Tool Nut offered the attic kit.

Consequently, I ordered the kit from EKAT, crossed my fingers and hoped for the best. I received all of the parts I needed along with 3 bags of dividers...go figure.

Are you still waiting on stock for the missing pieces of the first order?  Ok still waiting on parts for two lid only shipments?  Thanks.

[member=10579]BJM9818[/member] All of the units we have in stock are complete lids with all components.

Old thread I know, but are attic lids still available? I asked at my local Festool shop and they couldn’t find the lid on either Festool or Tanos listing. And the link here to Toolnut is a dead end and searching that site is a dud as well.

I get the dead end thing also on Toolnut. Also no results on a search.

This might not be the answer you are looking for but the parts for the attic lids are on the Festool ekat system.  Just like most things putting together an assembly from parts is more expensive.
