Replacing Base Plate on RTS 400 REQ

I need to replace plastic base plate on bottom of RTS 400. It looks like place is fastened to unit with a ring clamp. I have a replacement base plate but I don’t know how to remove old base plate and install new one. Has anyone replaced this plate? Do I need a special tool?

I have not done this kind of job. However, there are some videos on YouTube demonstrating how it's done. The one I had in mind I was unable to find but this one should cover what you're attempting. The sander in the video is a little older generationally but the approach should be the same (as the ETS/DTS and RTS are, essentially, the same sander with different pads).
