Hi everybody! I need some help. I had problems replacing the carbon brush on my CTL26E vacuum. Before the replacement, the vacuum was working, but with some issues that indicated the carbon brush needed to be replaced. After opening and inspecting the carbon brush, I found that, indeed, it needed replacement after 4 years. I changed the carbon brush, but the vacuum still isn't working. Any tips or ideas on what might be going wrong?

Check the brushes are properly seated and re-plug the connections, not just the brushes ones.

If you have availabe, you can use a contact paste (like from Wago for aluminum connections) on them if want to be sure. But should not be needed. Replugging should scratch the copper to renew the contact.

It is easily possible the issues you saw were not related to the brushes and both just happened to show up at the same time. Normally when brushes go the tool just stops - at least that is how it is suppossed to work.
