Has anyone attempted this. I had a piece thrown back because I didn't have it tight to the fence. It broke both parts of the black shroud. I believe it's also part of the handle assembly as well.

Is it an easy fix, or is it recommended to have shipped out to Fix?

Anyone with any info or has made this repair, thank you in advance.

. This has happen before. I just don't remember what fellow Foggers were doing for it other than saying ship it to Festool for repair.

I don't know exactly what part(s) broke on your Kapex. On mine it was the black plastic piece that held the rubber deflector boot to the saw. I simply ran a plastic cable tie around the boot thru dust chute. It might block a little air flow but I've not noticed and difference.

It is easy, It probable took me a little over a half hour.  The hardest part was getting the screw out that is at the very back and bottom of the plastic part.
