I got my Cleantex 48 in yesterday from the recondition sale. First, shipping... I don't get why it was on a pallet and had to have a freight carrier deliver it. Regardless, it got here unharmed.

First thoughts, in the original packaging and retaped. Upon pulling out the vacuum from the box some dirt on the wheels, which is expected. A couple of little scuffs on the latches where it probably was rolled into a bench or tool or something. I might try to clean them off with some mineral spirits. Opened up the vacuum, the manual was a little bent which is no big deal, the hose was clean, there was a new self cleaning bag, the bar to wrap the power cord around, 2 screws to mount the power cord reel. The inside of the vacuum was immaculate, the HEPA filter looked new.

Powered it on, hooked up my dewalt 5" ROS (My ETS 150/3 just got here today) and gave it a go, everything works correctly, it's quiet as could be.

Overall I'm impressed at the like new condition of a used item.
Some things that still boggle my mind. The 27mm hose is pretty damn small, but great for my sanders and my small 6" disc/1" belt sander. Back to the hose, it's a bit stiff and for that price for a hose I would expect it to be a bit more flexible. It reminds me of the hoses that you hook to a pool filter to vacuum the bottom.

The antistatic hose is stiffer than the non-antistatic unit.  Has to do with the plastic makeup.    That said, I much prefer the antistatic for not collecting dust on the exterior.

Thanks for the writeup.  Amazing the care Festool takes even on reconditioned tools!

The AS hose becomes more supple over time. I have an 8 year old CT Mini and a new CT26, and you can clearly feel the difference between the old and the new hose. But I find both are just as easily useable.

Not to hijack the thread but with antistatic properties in mind it brings me to a question. Is it normal for the vacuum unit to itself to attract dust to it.

I am fairly new to Festool and the CT in general so i really dint know? Last night i was doing a small project on sight. I only had to make a couple simple cuts with my TS so I just brought a lightweight plastic big box type table. The blade lightly cut the table the few passes I made but it made a huge mess! I did not think much of the mess but I did think twice about the black plastic shavings that where electrically charged stuck all over my CT?

Anywho gonna buy another CT this week because the Midis bag is just waay to small for shop use. I have been on the fence between the 36 or 48. Tempted to pull the trigger on the 48 but people mention it does not fit under the MFT tables. What are your thoughts on the subject "OP"being you now have a 48...

I just got a CT48 and it fits under the MFT3. I will be adding the boom arm to it this week.

Ha.. I was able to get a midi and a CT36 in the sale, I lucked out... I have no problems with the hoses, and it's nice to have a larger one for multiple uses and the midi for a dedicated vac for something like my mitre saw.

Iceclimber, if the midi is too small for you, as I figured it would be for me too and I got the 48 because it was available on the recon sale. I could've got a 36 or 48 as they were both available. I chose the 48 because of capacity, less bag changes. The 48 bags are slightly more expensive vs the 36 bags, but it's a negligible difference. Just go with the 48, and you will know there's no bigger option.

That thing is huge!

The picture under the table really puts it in perspective vrs the side by side pictures Festool provides..

It might be too big though?

Idk does it really matter lol..

Kidding..
