Review of Festool Master Catalog 2009 Product No. MC 02/09
The catalog screams quality. From the very stylized graphics to the dark colors it is all about quality. Even the weight and texture of the paper you
can feel the quality. So from the very start Festool makes a statement that they are a top notch company and are selling a very high quality, excellent
products.
There is a very simple, handy edge guide to quickly locate the section or tool category you are looking for. Each page has this thumb guide printed on the right hand edge for quick reference. This saves a lot of time, making it super simple to fin the tool category you are looking for.
Each tool category starts with some very attractive graphics highlighting the tool category. Followed by an explanation of the technology the tool utilize and what the product can do.
They showcase the Festool motto "Faster, Easier, Smarter" and list how the tool fulfill this motto. From a practical aspect Festool includes several tips on how to use the tool in this section. You can learn a lot about how to effectively use the tools by reading this section.
Each product gets a dedicated full page for a description. There is a high resolution photo of the product that allows you to see the details of the
product. Along the edge there are usually three smaller photos highlighting the feature of the product. This format is carried through the entire catalog. So it makes it easy to get a feeling for each of the products quickly.
On the bottom of the page are additional features of the product in a gray box. Again this is constant through out the entire catalog.
After the photo page there is a table showing the different products in a give category and how they compare. At first glance you take this page for
granted. Until you realize, that it offer a concise way of comparing all the product in a category, at one glance. Everything for dimensions, weight, what
is included and price etc. I have found this to be a very useful feature of the catalog.
Next there is a matrix of all the accessories for the category. Listed down the page are all the accessories, across the top of the page are the
products models, the body of the table indicates what accessories work with the different products models and the price.
This is a great way to find all the different accessories that can be added too or use with your tools.
The majority of the time Festool products do not go on sale. There have been exceptions over the last year. But You can save money, any time, on Festool product by purchasing them as package. These two pages list all the package deals.
