Hi all, My wife purchased a CTL26 240v for her own use on 15th June 2015, by chance I received an email from Festool about any tool purchases made after 15th June would automatically receive a scratch card for a prise. This arrived and when scratched said congratulations you have won a carpenters stationary set. wow what could this contain perhaps note pad, automatic pencil etc.
What arrived was a few pages of squared paper and a pencil!  this set must have cost about 50pence.
Before this arrived I suggested that my wife should join the  FOG the email to activate has never arrived even after completing the contact form and trying to register  a fresh. A month now and no contact is the FOG sexist?

[size=14pt]Hi David,
And a welcome to you and your wife.

Re your post-
Is the FOG Sexist? Maybe at times it is. However in this case, I think your wife's problems with her registration are more to do the FOG's technical issues this year. This includes the one you describe. See-
http://festoolownersgroup.com/feedback-on-administration/when-is-the-fog-going-to-be-really-fixed/msg405369/#msg405369

With the recent appointment of Scott as Festool USA's IT specialist these issues are starting to be resolved.

I suggest that you contact Scott through the message board. [Menu - Messages - Send Message - ScottW] Then hopefully, we can properly welcome you both to the FOG.

Regarding the Stationary Set, perhaps send a Message to Phil Beckley at Festool UK.

Edit: I have noted your avatar. Best wishes, whatever unfolds.

David,

Sorry to read about your disappointments on several fronts.

I can't help you with stationery set but I can help you get your wife's account set up if you send me a PM with her account name.

The notification system was broken and it went south in a graduated manner.  Some people were receiving notifications and others weren't.  It then degraded to the point where even those in the admin areas weren't getting notifications.  Unfortunately this is something hard to diagnose and it seems to be repaired now, but I don't think that it will react retroactively.

Regarding your question about whether or not the forum is sexist.  My answer would be NO.  We don't treat intentionally anyone differently based on whatever criteria one could imagine.  We do expect all members to be polite in posting and to adhere to the published guidelines.  Sexist comments are not welcomed here.  Are there more males here than females?  I am sure that there are but that is merely a reflection of the professions or hobbyists using the tools.

If I can be of assistance please feel free to let me know.

Hi David
Sorry to read of the problems regarding registration but as I am sure we are all aware technology is not always reliable.
I will send a P.M to you with all contact details for me at Festool U.K and you are welcome to call or email.
As for the scratch cards it is something different for those who have made a purchase of one of our products. Maybe something is better than nothing.

Well said

Seems to be going that way lately. I stopped using the ukw awhile back as it was starting to get boring with all the nonsense going on. Hope the fog doesn't go that way

Does this mean, I can't post about when I go to the woodworking shows with my wife. How I get tired of hearing her complaining about carrying all the tools and accessories I buy.
Plus how annoying it gets to hear her whine about now she's losing feeling in her arms and her knees are hurting from the weight of the bags.
Sometimes she whines so loud I can't even hear the guys demonstrating the tools.

Sounds like either she's not getting the appropriate training in: long walks back from the shops with extra bags, 24 pack etc etc or worse still she's not getting into the spirit of things!!!

Is she still under warranty?

Get them to demonstrate a PDC in hammer mode on speed 4.

How's she gonna stick her fingers in her ears to stop them bleeding from the screaming pdc  when her hands are full with jobbies goodies!!!

Remember the film "Scanners"?

In all reality I'm thinking back to the last show I went to with my wife and I can recall asking here to carry the bags so my hands were free to play with stuff and the constant "do we really have to wait and watch this, surely you've seen it all before".

Next time I go I'll take a small backpack instead of my wife [embarassed]
