Many of you are familiar with Rick Christopherson's many sage posts on FOG, and of his Waterfront Woods website as the repository of his wonderful Festool Supplemental Manuals (http://www.waterfront-woods.com/festool/) I was too. But what I hadn't "tripped across" were all the other great writeups he has at http://www.waterfront-woods.com/.

Wow! [not worthy]

I would like to particularly point out: "Tablesaw Techniques" (an in-depth discussion about using a table saw [if you must] safely, kickbacks, etc.), "A Safer Push Stick", "Climb-Cutting" (routing), "Static in Dust Collectors", and "Electricity in the Woodshop" (sort of "everything you ever wanted to know about electricity, but were afraid to ask").

[thanks] Rick!

Regards, Dick

I was just scrolling through the recent list of threads and was a little surprised to see my name. Thank you for the kind words, Dick.

I was just reading through some of your articles and found one with regards to sanding. Whats your current take on Dynabrade vs the current crop of Festool sanders? In particular the ETS150. Does dust collection improve the scratch pattern with both air and electric sanders?

Ya gotta love a company like Festool, John. Apparently the Festool product manager saw your question before I even dragged my fanny out of bed this morning. He knows I don't have an ETS sander to answer your question, so one is on its way today. I'll be doing some work with the sanders to see if I can help users get the most out of them. However, I don't write tool reviews any more, so I won't be doing any comparisons.

Rick, I don't know whether to say sorry or that's great that you get a new toy to play with. (LOL). It will be great to hear any impressions you.

Agreed, I have spent some time reading those as well. Still think about it every time I change the blade on my table saw.
That Large round table is unbelievable. Very inspiring.

Thanks for sharing.  I'll have to schedule some time to read through the website.  Very informative!

Rick -

I'm shocked that you don't have EVERY Festool.  Given that wall of Systainers in your shop, I figured you were the proving ground for everything released and in prototype.

Well, the three ETS models are actually on his wall of shame, but the cat claimed them. He knows enough not to touch the cat's sanders.
