What’s a less expensive alternative to the Panther blade?

Well… I tripped over a panther blade at my local Woodcraft, so I bought that one. Thanks for the suggestions!

i bought a new FT blade for my TS 55, cuz I just got the new cordless thin blade one otherwise I just take it in a get it sharpened.

I get my TS75 blades sharpened best to have a panther and combo blades anyway
But yeah Tenryu is a good one

I didn't remember what mine was, so I checked today. It's a Leitz, and the one for my TS55 is a CMT.
I have never used the CMT one though, it's just there as an "in case" I need it.

With the same accuracy? Or are you gonna sacrifice splinter strips?

FYI, the panther blade I put in my TS75 recut the splinter guard very slightly.  There is just enough wood left under the splinter guard to catch your finer nail on.

The 210mm panther blade is 2.6mm kerf vs 2.4mm kerf for the universal blade.

Weird. Even the new Panther blade is 2.6
And the blade for steel is 2.2

They fixed the TS55 blade thickness gears ago.

I wouldn't want the splinter strip to loose 0.1

They should have added a 0.1mm washer on the machine side.

I recalibrated my saw to my existing guide rails with the new, thicker kerf Panther blade installed so that wouldn't happen. Super easy to do. I just need to remember to do it again if I change blades (I doubt I will because my TS75 is now my dedicated hardwood ripping/jointing saw).

No need to sacrifice a splinter strip if you recalibrate your saw for the new blade. Sedge has a video on it.
