I also use a panther blade for rips like these and it works great. Just a general all round good blade for the situations where a fine tooth blade will struggle. Also several passes works better depending on wood and thickness etc. Oak is notorious for burning when you cut it.

Say what??? I rarely if ever burn Red Oak on my Unisaw...
