Well, it's been quite busy these past weeks.  I've only had a few moments between gigs to work on wood shop projects.  Anyway, I've added a RO 150 to the mix and so far I'm loving it!

My only question or observation is that it spews dust upon startup after a previous pass.  I'm sanding some maple sheet goods (Granat 120/180/220) in prep for poly and between grits and upon startup, it vomits dust!  Is this normal?

Again, it wouldn't be a post of mine without pictures so here you go  [tongue]:

It's not the camera, it's the lense and the photographer.

[thumbs up]

Yup, definitely not the camera!  I get my best images from a 5D classic!

Very nice photos, for a Canon. Only kidding, I'm a Nikonian and love my D3S. You have a great eye and should pursue product photography as a full time gig. Festool should hire you to photograph their tools in action.

You're wrong.  It's actually just the photographer.

A photographer as skilled as Eric can get dynamite photos from a pinhole camera.

[not worthy]

Thanks Willy!  As soon as wedding season is over, we've got to get together!

Nice Bokeh—and the RO150. :)

Thank you!

Thank you, yes, I am a "Canonite"!  Thanks for the kind words, I am a pro photographer (at least by definition and not by my own claim), and while I'd love to transition into product photography, the money, for us anyway is in the wedding business.

With technology today, and social media, manufacturers budgets for photography are almost non-existent  "Everyone", as in consumers are sharing their images on social media via their camera phones which generate an "acceptable" amount of buzz for any given manufacturer.  Also, DSLRs and other camera formats have come down substantially in price and now everyone is a "Professional Photographer".  When I shoot a wedding, I can always count on "uncle bob" to get in my way!  On top of that, half of the guests have better equipment than I do, well maybe that's a bit exaggerated, but you get the point!

I'd have to land a substantial contract with a company that values product photography and digs my style.  Where's Shane when you need him?!

"Bueller, Bueller"

Cheers,
Eric

Eric

Great photos as usual.  I have a question for you.  In the first 3 photos you posted of the RO150, there is something between the handle and main body, what is it?  It looks to be about the size of a pencil.

Uh, I don't think the RO can hang from thin air.......  It's a tool hanging thingamajig.

Thanks Erik really cool

I'm glad to see someone else that likes to keep there accessories in the plastic packs too

Have you ever done photos of homes of before and after a remodeling. I sometimes snap a few pics after my jobs but my skills in that department are less than acceptable. Every once and a while the guys I do work for have a photographer take some pics to put on the web site and to keep on hand for prospective clients.

I figured that was probably the case, but knowing what it is could be useful to others who may want to hold tool, if they need to keep tool off a particular surface.

Bryan, that is the tool holder that comes with the WCR-1000.  In the full picture of the WCR on the MFH it is the tool holder on the right.  It looks different as of late because I chose to wrap it in 1/2" heat shrink to prevent any additional wear on my sander bodies!

Mick, yes, I used to be quick to take them out the goods and discard the packaging but I found that it made things worse.  Even if I put them into a Systainer blades and bits would still roll about in the compartment.  I figured, if the packaging can handle the rigors of the sales floor fondling, then it can handle the wood shop!

Thanks everyone for the kind words and it's good to be back and participating on the FOG again!  I have a (shop) project I'm wrapping up and I'll be sure to share it in members projects!

Cheers,
Eric

Tim,

If I'm commissioned to do interior and or architectural projects I'm always brought on after everything is done.  In almost all cases, the hiring party is either an interior designer or  high end AV contractor.

examples:

A gig commissioned by a local AV integrator

display hidden by a mirror behind some pretty wicked mill work

a product shot of some of the electronics used to power the system
