I have a 2005 or 2006 Festool RO 150 sander. It has, since I purchased it, been my go to sander.
Last weekend I was sanding some outdoor benches in direct drive mode. I was applying enough downward pressure to keep the sander from jumping around.
After 5-10 minutes of sanding the pad stopped rotating and felt like it was no longer being driven. The motor continued to run.
I stopped sanding immediately and let the unit rest for a couple of minutes. When I resumed sanding, the pad did spin and it did sand, but now I am leary of applying pressure when sanding.
Has anyone ever experienced this? If so, what was your resolution?
