Yup! Every time I get that thing out I just can't seem to put it away. Great tool!
Well, can't spend all day here. Must be something around the house that needs sanding.
Hey honey, is that a splotch on your make up? Hang on while i grab my Sheepskin.....
[big grin]

I had some chips on the front of my hood that I filled with touchup paint.  After it dried I used wet/dry paper without checking the grit and left fine hazy scratches on my hood on most spots I tried to sand down the touchup paint.  Earlier this week I took the Ro90 with platin 500 until the scratches were mostly faded.  I worked those spots up to 4000 and they were gone.  I then took out my Lake Country 4" foam pads and some zaino all-in-one and buffed out the hood again using the Ro90.  Then applied wax using a softer foam pad and yes, once again using the Ro90.

It's good for several things beyond just sanding wood.

According to Shane it was developed for the Automotive industry. Amazing tool for sure.

Yup, that's right. It was originally developed for automotive applications, but works great everywhere else that I've tried it. I love that little sander.

And, for me Brian, I want to put mortises in everything I see with my Domino much like you want to polish your wife's makeup with your RO 90. That's also the same reason I didn't rent a Bobcat a number of years ago to do some landscaping. I would have ended up digging a pool or who knows what.  [scared] When my wife bought me my first chainsaw, I'm lucky that all the fence posts around my backyard were still standing!

Yeah, the thing is incredible!  It digs through old paint and chews through wood like a wild boar one minute, and puts a chamois-soft finish on it the next.  I can't get over what an amazing value this tool is!!!

Regards,

John

I've said this before but it bears repeating - the RO 90 with Vlies disks is a serious cleaning machine. It's good for all those really tough tasks like grout and grills.

+100 to everything above.  Lately I've been using my ro90 to do the final touchup when coping crown moulding. I've found it works great in rotex mode to hog out material on the back cut if I didn't get enough out with the Collins coping foot, then switch it to the Delta setting (but still using the hard round pad) to touch up the intricate areas. I keep finding more and more uses! :)

If you like the ro90 for coping,  you'll LOVE the RAS  ;)

If I have one sander in my truck, it is the 90...
If I have one sander at the top of a big ladder, it is the 90...

It really grows on you.

I bet! Unfortunately there are several tools ahead of the RAS in my purchasing queue. So many tools, so little money...

+1 on this. After reading this post I decided to tackle my cooktop that has had some kind of baked on residue for some time now. It worked like a champ. A little soft scrub, Vlies pad, rotex mode on speed 1 and voila!  Thanks for the idea Tom. All of a sudden my wife totally forgot about how much this sander cost.
