Hello everyone.

Just received my new RO 90.  It only came with 2 (P80 Granat, and Delta).  I'm in the middle of a project (Small Farm Table/End Table) which has Birch, Maple and Pine.  Looking for advice on which papers and pads to get.

Some of these papers will be used for finishing  (80, 120, 180, 220) work but, some I need to take some stock out (blend/Level).  Any advice on these consumables would be greatly appreciated.

BTW the included P80 Granat did not last.

For flat work, the hard round pad is nice. If you want to sand curves, check out the interface pad. It can be used with the soft or hard pad. Pick up a couple spare delta pads (hard or soft or both, whatever you think you will use) as they are fairly easy to ruin with too much pressure.

As far as abrasives, I'm not sure I can help much. Most of my use with the sander has been stripping existing finishes to prep for paint, not finish sanding of bare wood.  I'd suggest getting an assortment and trying different grits out. Some dealers offer smaller packages (10 discs) or custom assortments if you ask. Search the forum and you'll find some threads.  I've only used granat and been happy with it for my needs, but there are other options for bare wood.

Good luck!

Thank you...I'll pick that pads.  I searched but, could find any dealers (FOG) that sell assorments.

Good luck!

For hogging out wood, i would recommend the Rubin2 P40 grit.  The Granat is good for all-around, but if its wood only the Rubin2 works best.

You may also want to check out this link that festoon has on the abrasives.  I would recommend the blue pad for shapinghttp://www.festoolusa.com/abrasives

I have RO90 and it will hog out wood like its going out of fashion.
