Hi,

I had some threads get stuck in the RO 90 the other day and the rubber guide will no longer fit. As you can see in the image the collar has gotten chewed a bit and it looks like it's melted. It did not stay on for very long as I tried to pull it out then with no success shut it down. I've used it since without the collar, but I'm concerned as it's an expensive piece of equipment. Any suggestions?

It's a pad brake ring/dust extraction seal.  A wearing part.  It requires replacement, just as one would a drive belt or pad that had worn Velcro burrs.  Should be readily available from the parts warehouse.

It's a pretty complicated little sucker, however, as you've just found out.  Increased complexity often requires additional maintenance.  I'm not really sure here as I lost mine about a year ago (nicked), but there's a possibility that you may have to split the vertically divided "crankcases" to reseat the ring.  Failing that, send it in for a service.

Hi,

Thank you for your response. I just printed the UPS return sticker for service and it's on the way for service.
