I've had my 150 since 2016. I work a desk job, but hobbyist woodworking/carpentry. Levelled plenty of paint, flooring, and cross-cut stumps. The sander seems PM exponentially louder than it used to be and wondering if anyone's sent it in for service for these reasons?

Questions to follow would be, how long did it take, what did they find, and how much? I've read about bearings, but that they can be a pain without much experience or proper tools...

I buy most of my tools from Beaver Industrial Supply, they mention offering service but the link just takes you to Festool. Any advise on what avenue to pursue for service would be appreciated as well as any experience with the increased noise.

Thank you,

If you had your Rotex since 2016, and you bought it new, then you don't have to worry about the sound. No way is that Rotex in any way worn. I've had mine since 2008, it's seen a ton of use, and it is still going strong and never needed service.

So don't worry about the sound, as long as the sander works as intended it's fine.

Thank you Alex. Still going strong, no issues, but holy sh@# is it loud. Louder than it used to be, Seems that way since I used it for edging when refinishing our floors..

I think you should contact Festool customer support. My experience with them so far is excellent.
