RO90 and Platin

I've used Platin successfully with my RO125 to polish the haze off the headlight lenses on my truck.  I was thinking, though, that the RO90 with Platin might be an even better choice and capable of getting into areas that the RO125 is too big to fit into.  Will Platin be available for the RO90 at some point soon?

Yes. Dealers will be notified soon about the availability of Platin and the higher grits of Granat (up to 1500, I think) for the RO 90. So, I would expect it to be on dealers shelves in the coming weeks assuming they order inventory. I would check with your preferred dealer to make sure they plan to order some.

Willy, just an update on this. It took a little longer to get the communication out to dealers than I expected, but they have been informed of the availability of these abrasives now. I would recommend you contact your dealer of choice to make sure they order what you're looking for.

I have D-125 Platin, too.  Great idea that I missed the first time around.  I assume you went up to 4000 grit.  Did you use a polish with it? Just some water as a lubricant?  Do tell, cuz my headlights are beyond hazy.

Yes, I went all the way up to 4000 with Platin.  I also used Meguiar's PlastX plastic cleaner and polish on hard and soft felt pads on the RO125.  It worked quite well on the headlights of my aged Ford Expedition.  This evening I found a really interesting article that adds some perspective and technique.  I suspect that the RO90 will do even better, given its ability to get into corners and tight places better than the RO125.  If your lenses are as bad as mine were, it's unreasonable to anticipate that they'll look like brand-new again, but they'll be a bunch of better by a significant margin.

My first order of the new Platin for the RO 90 should arrive soon, maybe Monday.

I'll be making assortments available to those that aren't sure how it will work for them. I suspect that it will find a home with most professionals, as did the other configurations. The 150mm diameter is really popular and I suspect that 90mm diameter will be even more popular. Platin is one of those abrasives that finds uses for itself...
