I just finished a major project where I was using my RO90 to sand down seemingly miles of oak edging on Baltic birch. The sander did an amazingly good job, but I thought the dust collection had slowed down a little toward the end of the project.

I pulled off the round pad and found a ton of dust under the pad. The dust was very fine and easy to remove. I don't know if the dust under the pad affected collection, but there was a ton of it.

The learning is to clean out under the pad more often.

I have noticed the same. The fine dust actually forms a channel. Not sure if this by design. As the fine dust continues to accumulate it can clog. So yes i have cleaned under the pad periodically for better suction.
