Rockler 1250 CFM dust collector

Hey team. I recently upgraded my 650CFM Dust Right dust collector to Rockler’s new 1250 CFM.

I want to sanity check for others who have it. It appears the 1250 version actually requires you to press a button either on the unit or on an included remote each time you power the unit on.

The reason this is a problem is that it prevents the unit from working with the iVac Pro system I’ve come to love. Anyone else have this problem? Did I miss something?

What does the button do exactly? Is there a way you could remove the button and wire it straight through so plugged in (activated by ivac) it would turn on?

Hi [member=62566]brum[/member]  - thanks for the reply. Unfortunately the button is non latching. They designed the unit with two relays. The reason the button is non latching is because if power is lost and then restored, it prevents the unit from turning on again automatically. Similar to magnetic switches.

I have been working with the owner of iVac and he has designed a new switch that will wire into the dust collector that should work. He just shipped it today. Excited to try it.

Good deal. I probably would've been lazier and swapped out the switch for a latching style.

The circuit board Rockler included wouldn’t switch the unit on with a latching switch.

The unit you have doesn't seem like it has any fancy variable speed or anything; so I'm surprised you actually need the circuit board.  I would think you could probably bypass it entirely and just wire up to the motor directly to a power source.  My Oneida dust collector had a magnetic switch, but I just removed it from the circuit in favor of a contactor to use it with an iVac.

Did you ever get the answer to this? I am just now encountering this problem and am thinking of bypassing the circuit... or replacing the push button with a toggle. (if it would work)

I've had my SuperCell for 3 years this March.  It has been awesome in my small shop.
