FOG,
Looking for some input here.  I currently set base and case with a 16ga and 18ga Dewalt cordless system Thus far its a crapshoot if the nails actually set.  I use a mix of material, meaning, stain grade, paint grade poplar and MDF.  Because of all the heads sticking out, and yes, I have adjusted the depth, I was considering switching to a corded system and the Rolair airstak 1hp caught my attention because of its size.  My concern is the 90 psi limit.  If I'm shooting 16ga 2" is that enough?

Cheers and thanks,
Stephen

It also has a lot to do with the nailer brand. I just upgraded to an Omer 18ga and had to turn down the pressure (was using a Bostitch before).  I get nails set in hardwood every time at 90 psi.
I’m not sure how well your 16ga will do at that pressure.  I have a 15ga Bostitch and have to crank that over 100 for 2” in hardwood.  Haven’t upgraded that yet. :)

Have you considered the paslode butane nailers ?

Ive never run into a material they can’t drive consistently.
