Failure of motor and sanding disc/pad to communicate. Anyone else had this happen and possible reasons? I have sent it in for further investigation to a nearby independent repair shop who repairs Festool, as its way out of warranty.

I sent mine to Festool earlier in the year because it wouldn't change from rotary to ROS mode and back. They cheerfully fixed it for a reasonable sum way out of warranty. I bought the tool in about 2005.

Thanks Jim for sharing your experience. Obviously you were dealing with Festool USA and not Festool down here.

Ah, sorry...I missed your location, my friend. But yes, I have had good experiences with Festool USA's service over the years, although have rarely needed it. Like twice.
