I stopped by my local dealer today, a paint store that carries most all the sanding products. I was looking for a backer pad and some polishing pads for my RO125. The part numbers are 492128 and 493078. The didn't have them instock, but it got stranger. They didn't have them on their ordering system and they are not in the 2014 catalog or the Spring 2015 paint catalog. To double check I verified they are on line.

Are the special parts or only sold through special dealers? My local dealer is calling his rep on Monday but I'm curious how do I get these parts?

I just ordered some from Bob Marino.  They are on his site.  Got them in 4 days.  Give him a try.  Bill

I've seen them on the online stores before; I'm just curious why my local store can't order?

It's always handy to have a local source for that consumable that I may need right away, rather than have to wait on mail order.

I suspect that it might be that when Festool USA started their program for the paint industry they tried to simplify the product offerings to make it easier for new dealers.  I would venture a guess that your dealer will report back that he can help you out after he speaks with Festool.

As a follow up to my post, yes paint dealers are set up with a less than full product offering.  But they can order from the full line.  Polishes and pads are usually available at less than case quantities but some pads are in quantities larger than one.  Your local dealer should be able to help you out.

Thanks Peter. The dealer has a good display of sanders and supplies and I get the impression they have a pretty good business in the sanders. So I expect their rep will get them fixed up. Normally I get my tools from a guy in Queens and I know the rep there, but this is out in Nassau County and I haven't meet that rep yet. But my experience with Festool field reps has been great. They are high in product knowledge and also high in customer service.

The first thing that drew me to Festool is their game changing tools, but their great customer service is what has cemented my dedication to Festool!
