Rotex RO 125 571536 vs 571782 (New model vs old)

Hi,

I just purchased an RO 125 off ebay and they clearly listed it as a 571782(new number) but used a stock photo.

However, when it was delivered today it is a 571536 in the old systainer. Are there any other differences/design improvements between the two model numbers? Or is it just a difference of the systainers? The tool looks fine, I just think I overpaid if it is an old model.

I don't remember any changes in the tool, just the Systainer.

I don't have an answer to your question about the difference, but if you are OK with the tool, but not the price, you should contact the seller and indicate that the item is "not as described."  You could then negotiate a partial refund with the seller.  I've done this on occasion in similar situations and it usually works out.  Otherwise, you'll be sending it back.  If the seller gives you a hard time, you can always open a case with eBay.

Thanks for the info. If tool had less features I think I'd ask for a return but if it just the systainer I will bicker about price.

One more question, am I mechanically uninclined today or is this edge guard too big too fit? I'm assuming its for a 150?

No changes between the two. And you didn't overpay, older model is just as good and valuable as the newer.

That may be true, but the good received were misrepresented.
So one then has to study whether the received goods are OK... etc...

It seems a BS approach of the seller if it was intentional.

It looks like you have a green polishing pad mounted.  In case you don't already know, they are harder and slightly smaller in diameter than the sanding pads.  I wouldn't recommend a polishing pad to be used for sanding purposes.

Wanted to update everyone on the resolution. I sent the seller a nice email and she responded by telling me how much her husband was in trouble since he gave her the wrong info and shipped the edge guard for his new RO150. She offered a $60 refund for the sander and an $18 refund for the edge guard on the condition I mail the 150 edge guard back. Sounded like a good deal to me.

I realize now there aren't any differences in the tool between versions but I knew there were some design changes on the 150 so I wasn't sure. I still would have bid less on the old one anyway as this is my only old systainer and it messes with my OCD.

Good to hear this got resolved to your satisfaction. $78 should be able to get you a new edge guard and T-Loc systainer with inlay. Then you got what you originally paid for + one extra systainer.
