Is it possible to buy the foam bit insert alone?  All of the combo I have seen use the #1 Systainer and this will be too short for some of my bits.  Any recommendations where to buy?  Any thoughts on Kaizen foam and boring the holes?

Thanks in advance

I have used the hole cutters in grommet kits to cut the holes out.  These type of kits can be found in any home improvement store.  You can also put a sharp edge on any plumbing tubing.  Just spin the sharpened tubing and it will produce a very clean hole.

I bought the router bit systainer, along with a sys-2.  I swapped all the stuff over to the bigger systainer, and use the sys-1 for other bits and pieces now.

I did likewise.

Unless you're on a really tight budget - or already have a bazillion systainers - I don't think having an 'extra' Sys 1 would be an issue. In fact, I'll bet you a dollar that it doesn't stay 'extra' for long!

;D
