Router table dilemma

I'm converting my shop over to the green. So far I've gotten RO90, RO 150, LS 130, DTS 400, TS 55 (had for 3 years),  1-MFT/3 Cross Cut table and 2- MFT Kapex tables, OF 1010 and a OF 2200. Do you recommend the GMS GE set or the VL set?  And will I be able to use the 2200 in it?

If you have the room, I like the GE over the VL, and it has an outfeed table capability as well.

Some people who  have the VL have ditched the Festool fence in favor of an Incra one, anchored to the attached MFT, which looks like a great set up too.

According to Festool USA,  no you can not use the OF2200 router in either table without voiding your warranty. However, when I bought my table, it did come with the mounting rings for all three routers (1010, 1400, 2200), that was about a year ago, not sure if the parts are still included for a more recent purchase.

LOL reading between the lines I couldn't agree more with jobsworth....the CMS-GE and 2200 ....both awesome! Also the quietest and cleanest RT I've owned.

One other cautionary note... the CMS sold in the US, may come with the 2200 rings, but the power switch is not rated for it.  The switch mounted to the table is rated at 13.5 amps and the 2200 can draw up to 15.

cheers.  Bryan.

Isn't it rated at 2200 watts. To my calculations at 110v this would amount to 20 amps.
The web site lists 15A max the manual 16A. This makes the router at best only 1760 watts.
But it would only draw max amps under full load and would likely cause problems with the switch if you turned it off under heavy load. This would also cause havoc if it was plugged into a CT.

The conclusion is that, for me, the numbers just don't add up, unless some one can correct my calculations.
Which is probably the reason why Festool don't want NA to use the OF2200 in the CMS.

Bingo. Outside of NA, they have the 240v option which allows the 2200.

One day we might get it. One day. {sigh}

The table adapter rings come with the CMS table in the US for adapting the 2200, or at least they came with mine.  I would suggest you ask your dealer if that is still the case.  And yes, Festool says usage in the CMS will void the warranty.

What does not come with the CMS table is the clear dust-collection insert for the 2200 that attaches to it below the collet when in the inverted position.  That keeps the dust out of the motor.  Fortunately, that part is available from Festool USA spare parts.

2200 in a CMS is a great combination.  So is the 1400, though the 2200 runs smoother and makes bit changes much easier since the collet will raise above the base.

So if I make a 20 amp switch box dedicated to the 2200 and run my Ct36 from the table switch then all is well correct?
