routing multiple dados

How do you route multiple dados across relatively narrow stock, such as shelf dados in 12" deep by 8' tall book shelves?
Is there a way to utilize the parallel guides for this?

yes it could be done with the parallel guides. I'll leave that for someone else to better explain.

if you have the full MFT/3, it works quite nicely.

the guide rail alone works nicely as well. I have used it on plywood to rout all my side panels at once, then ripped for width, that way I had matching alignments.

with the festool system there are NUMEROUS ways to do it depending on what you have for gear.

I did it many time on the MFT/3. Mark your lines (or just some stops) for your shelf parts. Place a backer board behind the workpiece. A 4" piece should be plenty. Make your first router pass into that 4" strip. After that, you can place your shelf parts on the table, line up your lines with the dado and start cutting! Very easy very fast and a clean dado.
