For those of you who own an RS2 E, I would be interested in any feedback as I am pondering a purchase.  My family of sanders currently includes the following:

Rotex RO125
Rotex RO90
ETS 150/5
ETS 125
DTS 400 (recent addition I have yet to use)

I also have a Metabo 6" that doesn't get used much since I started using Festool.  Please let me know your thoughts if the RS2 E would be a worthwhile addition.

Thanks in advance!

Most on this thread might already know that I love my RS2e.  Great for all flat surfaces. Great finish sander. Get the hole punch accessory.

I have to agree with Jim, this is a great sander I use it often on raised panel doors and table top surfaces.

Well worth adding tomyourvarsenal of sanders

Ditto to the previous responses. The only trouble I have with it is that I don't use it as often as I should. I originally got it for flattening a tabletop and it's certainly good at that sort of thing. But also for general all around work and then finished with an ETS.

Here's one of the several videos that Allan Little (AskWoodman) did featuring the RS2E.  The nice thing is the sander has an accessory to make perfect holes for dust collection if you choose to use abrasives from other brands.

The only negative whatsoever is that it does not have a Plug-It cord.

I think the RS2e must be NAIE or is the RS200e the equivalent.

As for the lack of plug-it, wouldn't a plug-it conversion kit solve that problem? Granted you will end up with a plastic connection in-line and close to the tool but it will enable storing and using the tool like other plug-it devices.

Yes, but I haven't been able to find one of those kits here in America.

Thanks All for your responses-  the lack of a plug-it cord is a negative for my shop setup.  I'm wondering if Festool has plans to change this or offer a retrofit kit for NA?

I do enough table tops and raised panels where this would make sense for me.  One last question:  I see that it is listed as an orbital- is there a potential for leaving swirl marks like the ETS-150?

The RS2e and the DX93 have the smallest stroke of all the sanders. 3/32" ...no swirls, another reason I love it!
