I’ve never used but hear good things. Currently using general finishes arm-R-seal all on black walnut. I was using Odies but it had a tendency to yellow the sapwood and arm r seal didn’t. Can you give me some generic Rubio thoughts to look at.

Just a hobby guy that’s looking for wipe on and leave .
My finishing skills have and are not the best

TIA

The clearest they have is the Oil 2C Plus Pure. Watch a few videos on how to apply it and you should have no problems.

Order the smallest bottle size to give it a try.

With lighter woods, you'll get some amber with most oil-based products. Rubio makes Pure, which looks great on walnut but might also amber the sapwood. They also make a natural which is tinted to prevent the amber on lighter woods but doesn't look as nice on dark woods. You can read more here:

On my last few projects, I've started using Osmo Polyx in Clear and Raw. Similar to Rubio in that Clear is like their pure; it'll amber lighter woods. Their Raw has some tint to offset the amber.

Osmo is as easy to apply as Rubio but one advantage is you don't need to mix in any hardener. I can't yet speak about the longterm durability of Osmo vs. Rubio.

With both products, a little goes a long way.
