Rustic Tailgate Bench

I normally don't build outdoor furniture and never before did a rustic piece, but a friend of mine asked me to make a bench using the old tailgate from his father's pickup.  The structure is made from treated lumber and dressed out with old siding boards and posts he provided as well.  I angled the tailgate back a little and it actually is pretty comfortable to sit on.  It's not my style but my wife thinks it is cute, so it must be OK.  I deliver it this weekend so hopefully my friend likes it as well.

Regards,
Gerald

I've seen similar "tailgate benches" before but yours is better designed and built by far.

The only change I would recommend is putting the license plate on the face of the bench just under the seat.

Love the use of the posts as well as the colors.

Nice job.

When I saw the title of the thread i thought "What?"  Now I say "WOW"
