I received an invitation to "Camp ShopBot" today, probably because I own a HandiBot. The event is free and apparently open to anyone, it is being held at the shop of a guy in Mays Landing who has a ShopBot and does custom work and one-of jobs. From the invitation email I received:
Camp ShopBots are free 1-day events that feature topic-based presentations, Q&A sessions, face to face networking with other ShopBot users as well as guest speakers. We do our best to cover a variety of topics, from machine maintenance to cutting plastics to calculating speed and feed rates. Our host, CNC Design Fabrication, is run by John Pucci, Sr. who has a 4'x10' PRSalpha with the indexer attachment. Some demos will be done using the indexer and Aspire software. Lunch is included. We ask that you register to help us and our host with food and venue planning.
Camp Schedule: May 16, 2015
8:30-9am: Morning sign-in/Meet & Greet with morning refreshments
9am-noon: Morning presentations
Noon-1pm: Lunch
1-4pm: Afternoon presentations
Camps usually wrap up between 4-5pm
Please note that Camps are organized and sponsored by ShopBot Tools, and are primarily about tips, techniques, inspiration and networking. Camps are not the same as “training”. If you have any questions, please drop us a note at: CampShopBot@gmail.com
