After suffering a major stoke, Clarence Clemmons, aka "The Big Man," Bruce Springteen's saxaphonist has died.
What a terrible loss for the band, his family and the milions of fans around the world.
Rest in peace, Clarence.

Sad day when most anyone passes away, but I must admit I never "got" Bruce Springsteen, nor Clarence Clemons.

Well, that's why  different strokes for different folks. IMHO, there aren't many who have produced a body of work like Springsteen, play the sax as well as Clemmons, and very, very few who still bang out 3 hour concerts - w/o the fireworks and blatant vulgarity/sexuality/crotch grabbing,  that so many performers fill their shows with.

You're right Bob about bands like E Street just playing music and passing on the side-show. I saw Clapton and Winwood together a couple of years ago and it was the best concert ever. Just music. No flash.
