Here's a thing I made a couple of years ago, Its the same principle as the festool one that attaches to the boom arm.  I made it because, i have a big mft, and its a pain to reach for the one on the boom arm cause its kinda far away.  So i made this to go on the right side of where i do my sanding.  Its one of the most convienent things that i have made yet.  If i need to re-position a piece, I just drop the sander to my side.  call me crazy, but the motion when putting the sander there is so natural, and the hose holds the sander in whatever position i put it in, so i dont even look at the sander when I grab it.  It wasnt hard to make, you can see what i did by looking at the pic.  simple and effective!  Thanks for looking!

Thanks for posting Woody, really nice simple idea. Too simple for my complicated brain to come up with.  I've thought about what to make to hang my sander off the mft. I'll be trying your idea.  [big grin]

Great Idea
Thanks for posting
I like how your "clamp holder"  dovetails onto your MFT too ;)

[smile]  Yes I received a rotex sander holder when I purchased my Boom-arm unit. It holds 2 sanders and works great. And with a 33 vac under it. IT LOOKS AWESOME

Woody,

Great job, I also like that clamp holder. So you got rid of the MFT's legs and made your own with casters? Can you tell us more?

Nice setup! Can you tell us more about the clamp holder?
Is that a factory FESTOOL holder? If so what is the part number? I have never seen it in the catalog before. It looks like it is bent and machined Aluminum with that devilish ::) Logo

Thanks for the comments guys, well the clamp holder is from 2 dovetail templates.  I cut the ends off of the templates to get rid of the unessesary holes and fastened them to a magnetic bar with screws.  The bar is not a solid piece but a few magnets attached to 2 metal bars ( top and bottom).  Im deployed right now, so i cant take more pics, but ill put more when i get back(next month) The festool logo was put there by me so thats why you cant find it in the book.
To anwser bobs question, the mft is the expanded 1080.  I wrote on it a while back, ill see if i can find it,  you can see more pics if you go to my library of pics just look at "woody"s gallery.  I gotta get to work now.  ill check back when i can.  Thanks guys!
