I need to sand my kitchen cabinets. The doors are raised panel and the cases are plywood.  I want to remove the varnish and prime and painted them.

I also want to sand the house's wood trim and wood patio to repaint them.

I am not looking to pinch pennies; I just want to get the right sanders the first time.

Which Festool sanders should I purchase?

Thanks to all.  This is my favorite place on the web.

Not to burst your festool bubble, but I've done some work with a pro painter who painted my cabs over a year ago.  All he did was scuff them up quickly with a sponge sander to give them some "bite" then primed with two coats of Zinser oil primer and a topcoat of oil paint.  Everything is holding up just fine.  Personally, I don't think you need to strip the cabinets-go find another cool use for your Festools!

Try Jerry Work's article Getting the Most from Festool Sanders.  Go to Festoolusa.com, tips, woodworking and the link to download the pdf file is there.  He reviews and discusses the different models.
