Sanders

I was going to buy one to compliment my RO125, but then read this review on Amazon from a guy who owns every Festool Sander

> the ETS 125 is Festools weakest link in its sander line.   I have owned every sander offered in the USA from Festool and the ETS 125 is junk compared to the rest. The Porter Cable 390 far outperforms it for 109.00.

I am curious if the ETS125 is a "dated" sander and maybe due for an upgrade?   This guy did not have an ax to grind with Festool, he loves the rest of the sanders... thoughts?

the RO and ETS 125 were my first two festool sanders, i thought i could handle everything with these two. but i was wrong, they are two extremes somewhat like having to chose for your trip to the grocery store between an 18 wheeler and a bicycle. sometimes those two are handy, but most of the time you are better off with a car/pickup truck, represented by the ETS 150's.
my ets 125 gets hardly used, i really wished i had bought the DTS instead, at least i could use it for sanding in between paint finish coats on assembled furniture. so now i rather use a noisy no-DC bosch diy delta sander for that.
the ETS 125 is light but the grip is incredibly uncomfortable for my medium hands, it's slow and silent, but the airflow from the DC makes alot of noise going through it, quite annoying to use.
so i have the RO 150, ETs 150/5 and ETS 125, and the ETS 150 does almost everything, i use the RO for very rough sanding or polishing. the 125 hasn't been used in months.

Thanks Sam.... so I guess the ETS 125 does a better job for finish sanding....

I may have mislead you - My exact quote on the ETS 125 is "I think, but only from reading other posts, that the ETS 125 EQ is not a fair comparison to the RO125 as it is too much of a light finish sander to compare to the range of work that the RO can do." I reiterate that I have never used the ETS 125. My only info is from the writings of others.  I am very happy with the 150/3 and that is principally what I expressed in my comments above.
