Sanding pad removal question

While sanding with my RO 150 this afternoon the soft sanding pad came apart, the foam separated from the plastic. I am unable to remove the plastic part that is still connected to the sander, the pad just spins while depressing the green button that locks it in place. Can anyone assist with another method of removal?

Did you also switch it to Rotex mode?  If it's not in Rotex mode, holding the button down is largely ineffective.

Change the mode on the Rotex sander then try removing as usual.

That was the solution to get it to lock in place. Man, it’s a real beast trying to turn and hold the lock button in place. Another pair of hands is needed for this task. Thanks for responding.

I changed the pad on my RO125 a couple weeks ago.  Very tough to loosen as you mentioned.
