Sanding - Which Grits do you use the most? New Rotex

It's really hard not to buy the 100 packs when is bascially half the price per disc if you do....

I did that with my old sanders before I bought Festool sanders. I would have had disks for life if I had not switched to Festool. I now feel that, since things change and my needs change over time, it's better to just have what you'll use in the foreseeable future. As a hobbyist, I really don't use supplies up that quickly.

Can't you just poke new holes in them?

Festool's sandpaper tends to last much longer than other brands.
...

how much longer?

Tried a couple of things before selling my other sanders. To sell my other sanders I needed to include some sandpaper and just decided to make a new start. Some of the older paper was cheap and not very effective; certainly had a short use life.

Don't know how much longer Festool sandpaper lasts. However, I know that, with my older paper, I could tell very quickly that it was not doing it's job. With Festool sandpaper (on Festool sanders of course), I use the paper for more than one sanding job for a much longer period of time and it's still effective. With my old paper, I doubt I would have gotten along with buying the 10-packs or would have replaced my original paper already. I still have a good supply and have done a lot of sanding. So my opinion is subjective if that's what you are asking but, for me, that's what's important. I am satisfied with the life of the paper and am happy that it lasts "longer".

That totally depends on which other paper.
I doubt Festool paper is make by Festool, and to say it is better than others begs as to which others.

Alex mentioned some brand a week ago. If it is 3M, or lucky-starfish trading mades a difference.
