I have started to finish the corbels now, i started with gold leaf but it was taking to much on the deep carved parts of them it was going to take 2 books per corbel !
so i have done them with Bronze power and it looked no different than the leaf . now i am going over them with gilt cream to tone them down and give them some depth, so some photos are just the bronze on the corbels and some are nearly finished with the gilt cream
i have took some pics of the back of the door on another camera but can't find the card reader to put them on
p.s thanks Neill
I would really like to know more about bronze powder... send a link...

i used middle gold, its very easy to do. i gave the corbels, two coats of sand sealer first then mix the powder with a medium , (i used easy gild) ttp://www.goldleafsupplies.co.uk/acatalog/copy_of_Easy_Gild_Bronze_Medium.html and paint it on, once dry i put a darker gild cream on, then rub it off
