Pierre,

You are correct in saying that there are many talented woodworkers that are members of this site.  Not only are they talented but best of all they are willing to share their talents with others.

I am willing to share what little I know but I certainly don't consider myself in that category.  You, my friend, certainly are.  The skills you have shown us and your willingness to share this great project with us proves that you are indeed an asset to this Forum and to your profession.

Thank you.

Neill

I have started to finish the corbels now, i started with gold leaf but it was taking to much on the deep  carved parts of them it was going to take 2 books per corbel !
so i have done them with Bronze power and it looked no different than the leaf . now i am going over them with gilt cream to tone them down and give them some depth, so some photos are just the bronze on the corbels and some are nearly finished with the gilt cream

i have took some pics of the back of the door on another camera but can't  find the card reader to put them on

p.s thanks Neill

This is the bronze powder http://www.goldleafsupplies.co.uk/acatalog/copy_of_Standard_Bronze_Powder.html
i used middle gold, its very easy to do. i gave the corbels, two coats of sand sealer first then mix the powder with a medium , (i used easy gild) ttp://www.goldleafsupplies.co.uk/acatalog/copy_of_Easy_Gild_Bronze_Medium.html  and paint it on, once dry i put a darker gild cream on, then rub it off http://www.goldleafsupplies.co.uk/acatalog/W_C_Liberon_Gilt_Cream.html
its very very easy to do :)

It looks like you have been able to achieve a great finish with your system.  What size (CFM) Fume extractor did you use? I use a 36" (1 meter) diameter fan with approx. 8,000 cfm. I want to be able to spray in customers homes, but find that I really can't get the finish I want unless I can exhaust the over spray effectively which does pose some logistics problems at times.
Thanks for the introduction to Becker Acroma. There is a dealer here in Canada, I will have to try some. I noticed that it's a water bourne/based product, do you really need the full mask to spray it or just personal preference? I use a small 3m mask which works as long as I have the work set up in front of fan that is exhausting away from the workpiece.
