I have just bought 6 x 42'' inch  T BAR Record Irwin sash clamps    Just a quick glance at the sash clamps down the edge I soon realised they are all bent but bent side to side which doesn't really mater to much but I soon realised they where also bent the other way when I tried to get them all in a straight line ready for clamping 2.3m wardrobe doors

Now I have only just contacted my dealer via email so he doesnt know anything about it yet! But I thought I would asked if any one els has notice this. Also what the tolerance is to how bent they can be.  I thought they would be DEAD on straight like my spirit level but I was wrong.

They cost me just under 300GBP so they aren't cheap.

thank you

I wouldn't have thought they'd be bent side-to-side, but I could see a point to them being bent in the other plane.

If they're concave (looking from the top) then that could be deliberate, so that they straighten out as they are tightened. Just a guess, but mildly plausible.

I just made a quick picture so you can explain to me which way your on about it being bent.  I want to just make sure sorry

The Sash clamps are only slightly bent  SIDE VIEW way properly 1mm or so but its alot of you just place your level flat on one side as it shows more ofcorse

The Sash clamps are bent more visible TOP VIEW by just looking from above let alone down the edge  (Also looking at the red curve you see how I just got it to bend at the end well the sash clamps seem to be bent more of centre).

A bend in the T-bar is a common defect in such clamps which really shouldn't affect their performance. Your clamps have probably been cut from stock steel lengths of up to 7 metres - it's not a sophisticated process.
