Save $40 on the Ultimate Dust Deputy from The Tool Nut (US)

Nice! Just saw that as I was browsing the site! Looks like I might finally pick one up! From what Im reading around the net Oneida fixed the static build up issue that was frying the control boards in the CT vacs a couple versions ago. So the UDD sounds safe to use now!

UNLESS this sale is to clear out old stock for a new version.... Hmmmm...

Another good video on the latest version here:

This is all brand new stock, fresh off the truck from Oneida. It's the latest and greatest.

We're pretty ethical dudes, so we wouldn't pull a fast one on customers and sell off old inventory or something like that.  [wink]

Oh I know, wasnt trying to insinuate you werent. I have bought lots through you guys. I was more thinking maybe Oneida was the one that initiated the sale.

I think what Ben is getting at Shane is the video that you posted shows a white plastic DD on top of the black drop box. To my mind (and maybe Ben's too) black is associated with anti static and white is the original, non anti static, plastic.

If it is the latest kit, like that shown in my video, then go for it. I posted that video just over 2 years ago and can assure everyone that it is brilliant kit. I can only guess at the number of times I have emptied the drop box (which takes ordinary black bags from the supermarket) and suppose it has saved me at least 24 Festool CT26 bags which in the UK would be over UKP 200.

I can give no advice about anti static only to say that I never had any problems with my old, non anti static, DD and my same CT is still going strong.

Fair point, Peter. This is Oneida's official video that I'm using. I guess they never updated it.  [unsure]

Your video is much better anyway.  [big grin]

[attachimg=2]The only issue with the UDD is that the sleeved hose doesn't fit.  The sleeved port has nubs on the inside that will not allow it to slide onto the cyclone.  To fix this I used a 36mm hose cut about 24in long and used the Festool hose connector.

I wouldnt have thought anyone would use the sleeved hose with the UDD anyway since the power cord in it wouldnt reach the plug on the vacuum being that its plugged up higher into the Dust Deputy. Seems like you added another short length of hose to fix that issue though. How much extra did that cost you to put together?

Bought one of these last year from Toolnut. Barely any dust is in the Festool bag, but I have dumped the Oneida bag a few times. Use it daily.

I already owned the 36 mm hose. I had to buy 2 new hose ends and the Festool hose attachment. To fix the power cord issue I had a 1 foot Bosch extension cord that I use. I believe the hose ends cost $27 each an adapter is around 20. The hose ends didn't really bother me to buy because now I have a 2 foot section of hose for my table saw for jobsite use.

Will this work on the CT Mini or Midi? It seems like it needs to be the CT26 or larger.

It will not let me order.
Im getting a message stating "product not salable anymore"
Are they out of stock and if they are can we do a preorder ?

[member=59319]KescoNY[/member], really weird. Something screwy is going on with it on our festoolproducts.com website. I'll get it sorted out in the morning since it's getting late here and I was heading to bed.

However, it looks like it's working fine on the toolnut.com website. I was able to add to to my cart and begin checking out.

It is currently out of stock. We have already blown through our inventory, but we have plenty more that we ordered in anticipation of the increased demand that are already inbound to us from Oneida.

Give this a shot. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Well I bought one a few weeks back and already damaged beyond repair (I have 2 idiot labradors I let get to close to it!). Australian distributor out of stock, again, and can't get individual parts. Oneida won't ship international. Any of the retailers offering this deal willing to ship to Adelaide, Australia for less than the cost of a kidney?

Ok, the issue with the Dust Deputy on our festoolproducts.com site should be resolved now. Thanks for the heads up, [member=59319]KescoNY[/member].
