comment from an enquiry made to a product supplier.................
" I have been selling saw blades for over thirty years and can’t see the point in the different pitch for a portable machine like the Festool.
Just means you pay more for the blade and for sharpening it.

I sell something like 100 blades for the Festool every year with a standard tooth configuration.
Perhaps that’s why my prices are a fraction of the price of the Festool." www.cutting-solutions.co.uk

So............what do you think?

apologies...........my wife never understands me either.

It is for new  blades for the ts55 I originally enquired about as I need to buy about 4 to get me through one job without having to wait for sharpening. I dont believe in cheap, it rarely pays off in the same breath dont like overpaying just because of a brand name.

What are you cutting ? Trend make blades for the ts saw , I have one and it lasts at least as long as the festool blade and a lot cheaper. The equivalent laminate blade is about a 1/4 of the price !!!

Bought the trend one last week £15 + vat cuts fine

For the money it's a no brainer, I've been using trend blades in various tools for many years and you can resharpen them quite a few times before you have to bin them
