Anyone know whats up with saw helper miter saw stand products? I emailed them but haven't heard back. Will they breath again?

That is a question that has been asked all over the woodworking and carpenter forums.  The answer is "who knows?"

At the current time your best bet is to check out Craigslist and other second hand sales sites for used units.  Surprisingly to me there are often new or slightly used units available.

To rant a little bit - I hate the fact that companies can set up a website and email for 5 or more years and then discontinue doing business and the website exists until the hosting renewal fee doesn't get paid.  Arghhhhhh.

I've seen some discussions but haven't heard anything lately. So as of now they're totally done?

I missed a saw helper  with makita 12" slider for $325 on craigslist.....!

bummer... Thanks kreg. I can't remember if I sent you the email or not but I wanted to thank you for your videos. I'm without dedicated shop space and its great to see your workflow and setup. Perhaps I missed the video but, how are you handling the miter saw and stand?

I found a Sawhelper setup on craigslist that's around 20 minutes from me. May be worth checking out. Sawhelper in Apple Valley

I think the most desirable part of the Sawhelper set up is the flip stop. Very heavy duty. The rest of it can e accomplished by other means, including the Festool and Fast Cap wing set ups.

I met with the owner of Sawhelper a few times a few years ago, his office was about 15 minutes from my apartment. Great guy, too bad things didn't work out.....

Best,
Tom

I too wish I bought a sawhelper stand. Right now I'm using both the Festool ug stand and the fastcap bestfence stand. Both are being used with my kapex and ug cart. I love the speed of the Festool ug extensions so they are used most of the time. The fastcap extensions are also nice, they are over an inch wider then the Festool ones and can be joined together to make it super long. The bestfence is heavy and takes longer to set up but once it's setup it's a killer system. You can't go wrong with either if you have a kapex, but definetly get the ug cart and ditch the fastcap stand if you go with the bestfence.
