Saw stools (cutting table)

Made this to cut up my sheet material. Had some MDF delivered to make my sys ports. Ended up getting side tracked making saw stools so I could break the sheets down. That was 4 Sundays ago lol. Now I can actually start

Oh no promised the wife I would make a front door first  [scratch chin]

I like it. What is the metal section made out of, or is that a special part that you bought?
 
Very nice. I assume you fabricated the aluminum expander hardware.
 
Yes mate I did. It was quite a lot of messing around with nuts and bolts

Interesting...is that aluminum square tubing with a wood core?
Is that a commercial product or did you make that also?
 
It's just some 25x25mm box section I ripped some beech to the internal dimensions and hammered it in then trimmed it to length and shaped it
 
I like it...very clever. Almost the strength of solid aluminum but with the machining ease of wood.
 
To be honest I sort of made them up as I went along. I could get some films together next week

I do know they are a little taller than most as I'm quite tall
 
That should have said dims not films flipping spellchecker

I'm a long way from making films lol
